Monday night Joe Biden will hold a candlelight ceremony at sunset as the US is expected to hit a frightening number of half a million deaths due to COVID.

The president then will address the nation at 6 p.m. ET to mark the lives lost to the deadly virus.

‘It’s nothing like we have ever been through in the last 102 years, since the 1918 influenza pandemic,’ Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, said on CNN’s State of the Union.

To put this in perspective, the death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed American lives lost in WWII and the Vietnam War combined.

There is good news on the horizon though as infections have fallen 77 % over the last six weeks. Still, Dr. Fauci warns that we may still need masks in 2022  and the population may need a booster shot in the Fall because of the new variants.
