Trump’s older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, an appellate court judge, resigned hastily after a probe into her involvement in a family tax scheme was opened. All of the Trump siblings are being investigated after it was revealed that they were involved in a tax scam regarding the transfer of their father’s real estate empire.
Why resign? Because retired judges are not subject to judicial conduct rules.
According to a New York Time report last year, the Trump siblings ‘vastly understated the value of the properties’ from their inheritance, in order to reduce their tax bill. That wouldn’t be the first time.
