‘You don’t mind if I go off teleprompter for a second, do you?” That was Trump, after only 4 minutes into his rally in Pennsylvania.
Instead of a speech about economics, Trump went off tangent to insist that he is ‘more attractive ‘ than V.P. Kamala Harris.
What prompted this? It came after Trump had seen the new TIME magazine Harris cover, titled’ Her Moment.’
I said, ‘is that Sophia Loren? ’ I couldn’t, who might that be? ‘Is that Elizabeth Taylor?’”
And then apparently referring to Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan, who has written extensively about the V.P. In one column, she wrote about Harris, “Her beauty, plus the social warmth that all who have known her over the years speak of, combines to produce: radiance.”
“She said one thing that got me,” Trump began, seemingly talking about Noonan’s columns. “She said Kamala has one big advantage, she’s a very beautiful woman. She’s a beautiful woman.” The crowd boos.
“But I say that I’m much better looking than her. Much better. Much better. I’m a better looking person than Kamala,” Trump continued, to cheers.
So much for economic policy.
