After the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Trump was caught on a hot mic telling FOX /news host Lawrence Jones to praise his performance.
“Lawrence, say we did a great job, please,” Trump said as other reporters filed out. “Say it was unbelievable!”
Even though Trump said it jokingly, it’s clear that the intended message was serious.
This comes as Trump forbids even more reporters from the White House briefing room over what he considered ‘negative’ press.
This week, press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the administration would dictate which reporters could cover the president.
