As with any live show, sometimes some pre-taped segments don’t make it into the final show.That’s what happened on NBC’s Saturday Night Live yesterday, when an elaborate ‘Star Warriors’ — a take-off on ‘Star Wars’ — was scrapped at the last minute.
Taped as a trailer for a fake Stars Wars film called The Mos Eisley Five, the skit kicks off with a serious introduction by J.J. Abrams : “It’s the story,” says Abrams, “of a group of smugglers hired by the rebellion who were instrumental in establishing a rebel base on Hoth.”
