The Regent Suite on the new Seven Seas’ ‘Splendor’ crusie liner boasts a fancy suite (for a mere $11,000 a night) but it’s the bed that has everyone talking.

Reported to cost $200,000, the custom-made ‘berth’ by Swedish brand Hästens, which the Regent Seven Seas calls “the most luxurious bed at sea”, is made of horsetail hair, cotton and wool batting with a pine wood frame. (That does sound comfy but 200k?)

At 4,443 square feet — with a luxurious master bedroom, guest bedroom, private dining room, relaxing living space, sauna, steam room and spa treatment area — you’d think that the $11,000 a night might be a slight deterrent but it’s already sold out for Seven Seas Splendor’s 2020 inaugural voyages.

Naturally, you get the VIP treatment throughout your sail. They provide a free business-class flight before and after your trip, a personal car and driver in every port and remember to let the Pre-Voyage Concierge know your choices for linens, pillows and skincare products. But of course.
