When some (Republican) States banned titles from schools and public libraries, demanding that these books be removed immediately from shelves, Barnes & Noble created ‘Banned Books’ sections in their stores.
Some of the banned books are recognized as classics, including “1984” by George Orwell, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee “Lord of the Flies,” and “The Great Gatsby.
In Florida, where 16 books were considered “inappropriate” and contained “obscene material” one Barnes & Noble store wrapped the banned books display in bright yellow can’t-miss caution tape.
Here’s a list of the most ‘popular’ banned books. Go out and buy a few even though you’ve undoubtedly already read them all.
