For fans of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they can now visit a London restaurant inspired by the book and movies.

Located in London’s Kew Gardens, the eatery bills itself as a ‘world of fantasy’ with giant mushrooms, a pink pizza oven and an ice cream bar.

Named the ‘Family Kitchen, it features fun whimsical designs such as an apple-shaped seat, giant timber-weaved fungi sculptures and a brightly colored Ethiopian Enset tree.

The idea was to combine ‘the aesthetics of the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with a botanical science laboratory.’

While Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory revolves around sugar, the mission of this restaurant goes a bit further, to ‘offer children an insight into plant types, local produce, agricultural techniques, food processing and meal preparation’.

There’s also a  pizza-topping station where children can select their own ingredients that ‘aims to educate young diners on the process of food-making.’ We think they’ll just love piling on the toppings.

Children can play with the interactive installations that teach families about the ‘origins of their food’ while parents get a well-deserved rest.
