West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin announced on Friday that he plans to vote for President Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson, which may guarantee her nomination to the Supreme Court.

In his decision, Manchin said:
“I met with Judge Jackson and evaluated her qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice. After meeting with her, considering her record, and closely monitoring her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have determined I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court.”
This is noteworthy since Manchin holds a key swing vote in the Senate, and with Vice President Kamala Harris holding the tie vote, the Judge could be confirmed by early next month.
True to form, the Republicans will probably not cast any votes in her favor.
