Pass the chicken wings and beer!

22-year-old LA poet Amanda Gorman who burst into the public spotlight at the Biden inauguration has been asked to recite an original poem during the pregame ceremony at Super Bowl LV.

Gorman was commissioned to compose a poem about ‘resiliency’ in honor of the three ‘captains,’ a nurse, an educator, and a veteran for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.

And this is a good time to mention that the talented poet’s book The Hill We Climb and Other Poems and a children’s book entitled Change Sings are scheduled to be published on Sept. 21.
