Our little red doxie, Ginger (Bread), was one of 22 pups in a hoarding situation rescued by the wonderful Dachshunds and Friends Rescue group.
Naturally, she came with a few issues; #1 is separation anxiety. I work from home, like many people these days, but even when I would go to the store briefly I’d come back to her woeful howling.

We really hadn’t had a chance to test them…until last night. Monday night L.A. experienced a thunderstorm, with all the booming and crackling lightning you’d expect.
Poor Ginger was shaking and whimpering. We gave her one of the small dog flavored carbo and peanut butter calming chews, with 60 mg CDB treat and she scarfed it down. (Doxies will always eat.)
Within 20 minutes she was much calmer and even managed to fall asleep even with the thundering. At that point, we thought of gnawing on one ourselves:)
