The Defense Department was forced on Monday to deny the U.S. had struck Iran’s main petroleum export facility after a bored Trump posted a fake AI video showing a supposed attack by U.S. forces.
On Trump’s Truth Social account, his AI slop shows oil storage tanks and refineries bursting into flames, taken as if the pilot is filming the explosions. The caption reads:
“Kharg Island being blown to smithereens” and signed as “President DJT.”
But U.S. officials raced to announce that no such attack had taken place.
Trump’s wild postings on Truth Social — usually very late at night — are reportedly counted as official statements from the commander in chief .’
In a related post, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran was “officially a Failed Nation” and “DEAD.”
