In a scene straight out of  ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ a controversial Texas law that bars abortions at six weeks is now in effect after the  Supreme Court and a federal appeals court failed to rule on pending emergency requests.

Note: Many women don’t even know they are pregnant at six weeks.

And the law allows people to report women seeking an abortion, or to bring a civil suit against anyone helping someone obtain an abortion. It will encourage spying on other citizens.
Planned Parenthood clinics have already stopped scheduling most appointments.
Abortion providers say the law will “immediately and catastrophically”reduce abortion access in the state for 85% of patients – forcing many to go out of state, carry unwanted pregnancies, or resort to unsafe abortions. As is always the case,  it will primarily affect low-income communities, since wealthier people will simply travel out of state for an abortion.
Roe v Wade is under attack.
