The love resort would also feature more than 42,000 square feet of convention space, a casino, a restaurant in the sky, retail shops, a pool and a covered pedestrian plaza just like the Fremont Street Experience, the five-block downtown Vegas entertainment district known for its massive LED canopy, neon lights, free live music and the ‘SlotZilla’ zipline.
This would replace the unfinished SkyVu development, which has been an abandoned construction site for over ten years.
Multiple companies have tried to buy the space, but each time, financing failed.
You do have to wonder about the timing of this gigantic project, with Vegas’s declining tourism, with visitor numbers dropping 7.5 percent to about 38.5 million in 2025 as rising costs, international travel restrictions and increased competition from sports betting and online casinos steal their tourists.
It doesn’t help that desperate Vegas hotels and casinos raised their prices to try and make up some of their losses but ended up turning away guests instead.
