English actress Diana Rigg, famous for playing Mrs. Peel in The Avengers, marrying James Bond in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ and later for her role in Game of Thrones, died peacefully at home at the age of 82. She died from cancer, according to her family.

The classically trained actress won Bafta, Emmy and Tony awards over the span of her career. Known to a younger generation for her role as Lady Olenna Tyrell on GOT, the actress once admitted she never watched ‘Game of Thrones.’

Smarter than the characters she played, she inspired an entire generation of young girls to be heroes.
