Over the weekend, the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island opened another vent and Lave spewed 300 feet in the air.1,800 residents were evacuated and the National Guard has arrived to help.

 “There’s no sign of this slowing down,” Hawaii’s Civil Defense Administrator Talmadge Magno said Sunday. “We had some pauses yesterday, but there seems to be a lot of magma underground.”
