Coincidence? We think not.
Shortly after the news broke that Trump had been smuggled in a catering truck to a military plane because of an Iranian threat, taking a few key members of his team with him and leaving the rest of the White House staff and all the press on Air Force One, his faithful press secretary announced she was resigning.
Reportedly, Trump pleaded with her to stay, but she was adamant.
Leavitt wrote a long post on X, calling it a “bittersweet decision” and writing that she had concluded she could not balance the demands of the job with being the mother she wanted to be to her two young children.
The press certainly won’t miss her. By far the most combative press secretary in modern history, she berated the news outlets, barred AP from the Oval Office and carried out Trump’s orders with glee.
The question is: who would want to take this job?
