In a new report by the House committee investigating the Coronavirus pandemic, they found that Trump and his administration had ‘deliberately undermined’ the response to the pandemic to focus on getting him re-elected.

Citing evidence such as when Trump continually weakened CDC testing guidelines and blocked CDC briefings, argued against the use of masks, and downplayed the virus in the 46-page report, it’s a damming snapshot of Trump’s presidency.

‘These decisions placed countless American lives at risk, undermined the nation’s public health institutions, and contributed to one of the worst failures of leadership in American history,’ the report notes.

Noting ‘Trump Administration officials engaged in a staggering pattern of political interference in the pandemic response and failed to heed early warnings about the looming crisis,’ it reveals how Trump’s actions cost lives.

The report cites more than 430,000 pages of documents, interviews of key officials involved in the pandemic response, and public hearings on the matter as the source of its findings.
