In an interview with Turkish television station Haber Turk, Jamal Khashoggi’s fiancée said she will not take Trump up on his offer to visit the White House.

Hatice Cengiz said that she would only consider it if the U.S. ‘makes a genuine contribution to the efforts to reveal what happened inside the Saudi consulate.’

‘The statements Trump made in the first days around his invite and the statements he made afterward opposed each other. They were simply statements to gain public sympathy.’

Remember, Trump has stalled on sanctions in response to the murder of the Washington Post Journalist because he wants the Saudi agreement to purchase military equipment from the United States to go through. Even Republicans have urged the President to consider tough sanctions.

‘I found myself in a darkness I cannot express,’ Ms. Turk said. ‘I demand that all those involved in this savagery from the highest to the lowest levels are punished and brought to justice.’
