According to the new book, ‘I Alone Can Fix It,’ during the Capitol riots Ivanka Trump tried to get her father, then President Trump, to convince his supporters to leave the Capitol.

In the excerpt, Ivanka reportedly told aides, ‘I’m going down to my dad. This has to stop,’ after the Trump supporters had breached the Capitol.

In fact, White Chief of Staff Mark Meadows pleaded with Ivanka,

‘I need you to come back down here. We’ve got to get this under control.’

Ivanka even tried to call off  the rioters herself in a misguided tweet:

‘American Patriots – any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable,’ she wrote. ‘The violence must stop immediately. Please be peaceful.’

It would be a full 24 hours before Trump called off his supporters, calling for ‘peace and unity’ but refused to take the blame for the insurrection despite having urged his supporters to ‘march on the Capitol’ and ‘fight.’
