Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is engaged!
And apparently, she’s more excited about that three-carat diamond ring from her NFL player fiancé Jonathan Owens than her FOUR Olympic gold medals.
‘It’s definitely my most prized possession now and I’m always wearing it,’ she said.
‘I was washing my hair the other day and I took it off, just in case — I didn’t know if it was gonna get caught or anything — and I have to ask my mom, “When do you take it off, do you ever take it off?” and stuff like that. But it definitely beats a gold medal.’
Owens, 26, popped the question to Biles, 24, in a gazebo at sunset on Valentine’s Day, presenting her with an oval diamond ring designed by jeweler ZoFrost.
Owens admitted that ‘a lot of planning’ went into the proposal, which took about two and a half months to set up.
‘I kind of started talking to the jeweler in early December, just getting everything situated. And my cousin, he helped with a lot, just kind of doing stuff for me when I was busy, calling the restaurant, setting everything up.
‘But she really had no clue, she thought it was a normal day,’ he added.
Owens also said that he talked to Biles’ father before proposing, admitting that he was a ‘little nervous at first.’
