In Jacksonville Florida, a Madden NFL video tournament was underway when one David Katz, 24, of Baltimore, opened fire after losing a match killing two other players before turning the gun on himself. 11 others were injured in the frenzy.

Fans watching the streaming live game platform Twitch heard the shots before the feed suddenly cut out.

On ‘Good Morning America’, one of the players, Tony Montagnino told the hosts:

“My first reaction, I heard the shots and I thought, ‘Why is there firecrackers in here?’ ” Montagnino said Monday.
“And then I actually got hit. And I’ve never been shot before. So I didn’t know what to think. And then I turned around and actually saw the flashes from the gun. And at that point (I) just went into survival mode, and I just wanted to make sure I was out of there.”
