Republican ‘megadonor’ Thomas Peterffy announced that he is suspending donations to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, just as he gears up for his 2024 presidential campaign.
“Because of his stance on abortion and book banning . . . myself, and a bunch of friends, are holding our powder dry,” the billionaire explained.
Last week DeSantis signed Florida’s restrictive six-week abortion ban (before most women even know they’re pregnant.) The Republican also banned Black history courses and books, which apparently was too much for Peterffy.
Will the billionaire flip to supporting Trump?
“I think we need a fresh face,” Peterffy told Bloomberg at the time. “The problem with Trump is he has so many negatives, he can’t get elected, period.”
