Fittingly, the carpet leading into the church was red, as befits a Queen (of Soul.) For Aretha Franklin’s funeral, thousands gathered outside to pay their respects, as bold-faced names from all walks of life prepared to honor the iconic singer.

Bill Clinton mingled with Faith Hill and Arianda Granda while Smokey Robinso sang ‘Really Gonna Miss You.’ And of course the Queen had a costume change…for this viewing, she wore a full-length gold dress with sequined heels, making it her fourth outfit this week. We had to wonder why she wasn’t in one of her famous fur coats?
