True story: we have sported a pink streak in our hair for years and sometimes we like to go all-pink. (before Katy Perry, we’ll have you know.)

So when Brite Hair asked us to try their new 100% Plant-based demi-permanent color that’s infused with conditioning henna we were more than happy to swap out our pastel Manic Panic dye.

We tried the Instant Color (available in purple, silver, pastel pink, & bright pink) in a moisturizing formula that conditions hair while it colors & is supposed to last 5 – 30 washes. ($10 on the site or at Target.)

There are actually four different ways to apply but we went straight from the tube since we’ve been doing this for so long. (Remember, always do a strand test first to rule out an allergenic reaction and to see how it looks on your hair.)

Since we’re already a light blonde we didn’t need to bleach a strand so just applied it directly to our hair. A little goes a long way! For faster application we placed the colored piece into tin foil, just as you’ve seen them do at salons, but it’s not necessary.

Processing time varies to check your dyed hair regularly but for us, 30 minutes and we’re were done. Rinse the hair in cool water to lock in the color.

Voila! Pastel pink, just as promised! We’ve washes our hair 4x since then and it’s still vibrant — and healthier than it usually is, due to the hydrating formula.

Next, we plan on trying their Make Me Pastel shampoo in color which colors your hair a little bit each time you use it.

We’ll letcha know!
