The iconic 55-year-old fashion designer Kate Spade has been found dead in her New York apartment. New York police are investigating her death as an apparent suicide.
Famous for her purses and accessories, Spade sold her company to Neiman Marcus in 2006.
She is survived by her husband Andy, who is the brother of actor David Spade, and her 13-year-old daughter Frances. Kate was also the aunt of Rachel Brosnahan, the star of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
