American’s Doctor, Dr. Fauci, is the new cover pin-up for InStyle magazine. Appearing at home, sitting beside his pool (note the socks) the Doctor repeated his warning that the US could reach a ‘horrific figure’ of 100,000 new infections per day if cases continue to spiral out of control.

In the interview conducted by CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell, Fauci also revealed that he was an ‘apolitical person’ but that the ‘real and perceived built-up conflict’ with the Trump White House was making things ‘very stressful.’

As the White House mounts a counter-campaign against Fauci –last week Trump said that Fauci had ‘made a lot of mistakes’–  the Doctor admitted he’s ‘walking a tightrope’ in his relationship with the President, but Fauci’s main concern was getting the COVID warnings out to the public.

But asked if the president could fire him as director of the NIA, he bluntly said: ‘No.’
