“Dupes’ are all over TikTok and Instagram. So-called influencers excitedly tell us they found the ‘perfect’ inexpensive duplicate for a brand product, whether it be a beauty find or a knockoff of a designer brand. In turn, these influencers make money every time you buy that replica on Amazon …not that they share that info with their readers.

So we tried the dupes for Charlottes Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Powder ($48.)

Most influencers raved that the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter ($14 for a small bottle) came closest — and the brand quickly sold out online — but none of their shades matched our skin the way the Tilbury did.

Runner up Maybelline Fit Me! ($12.99) did have a better shade match and blurred our complexion somewhat but didn’t create the perfect — flawless — skin we wanted.

So we’re here to tell you that dupes are not always what they seem and sometimes you have to pay for quality.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless powder is the closest we’ve gotten to an airbrushed look. The smoothing effect, which blurs pores and imperfections is better than FaceTune. We wear it over foundation at night or just over our sunscreen during the day.

Light-reflecting ingredients diffuse light to give you a natural, luminous glow. You look like yourself, just better.
