Burt Bacharach has died at age 94, his publicist announced today.

The profile hitmaker composed more than 500 songs during his career and had a string of top 10 hits

The ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ composer won six Grammy awards in his lifetime, and wrote hits for other singers from Elvis to Frank Sinatra.

In 2018 he famously said he’d never retire:  ‘Music softens the heart, makes you feel something if it’s good, brings in emotion that you might not have felt before.

‘It’s a very powerful thing if you’re able to do it if you have it in your heart to do something like that.’
