Yesterday when the FedEx truck rang the doorbell we were delighted to see the delivery was from Bouquet Box, the only DIY floral arranging system that puts you in control of the blooms, with easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your arrangement looks ready for the Oscars (which it could be because the experienced team behind this company — DIY expert Courtney Sixx and co-designed with celebrity florist, Mark Held of Mark’s Garden — are highly sought after by Hollywood’s A-list).

We were sent the June Lace bouquet and the mix of white and green is elegant, light, and perfect for summer.

The out-of-box experience is luxurious from start to finish. The flowers are wrapped beautifully, the tool kit includes everything you need to create the arrangement, even the directions are printed on nice thick cardstock – you know thought went into every aspect of this box. It’s worth noting that these tools are only included in your first order, but they are high-quality and you won’t need more than one set.

The one curve ball was that the first suggested step was to trim one inch off all the stems and then place the flowers in a sink full of cold water and let them sit overnight. This step is recommended to keep the flowers lasting as long as possible – which you want because they are gorgeous. Our sink is used too often to let flowers take over for a night. We considered the bathtub, but imagining carrying the wet flowers downstairs the next day seemed like a mess. We landed on an ice chest and that worked great!

Today we began the process of prepping and arranging, with the help of our 11-year-old daughter who was highly enthusiastic about this project. The instructions were simple and the result is an elegant bouquet we will enjoy every time we walk in the room.

The site offers a floral calendar that shows what each month’s arrangement will look like with different sizes starting at $99, or you can sign up for a subscription with tiers offering monthly, every two months, or seasonal deliveries. This could make a wonderful gift for someone who likes to create or you could order and arrange and give as a hostess gift.

Our takeaway is Bouquet Box is worth every penny, and it will give you a new appreciation for the artistry of floral arranging.
