As President Biden promised, the CDC officially expanded eligibility for COVID-19 vaccination to include any American 16 or older on Monday.

More than 50% of Americans 18 and older have now had at least one shot and nearly a third of adults are fully vaccinated

‘Folks, I have good news. Everybody is eligible, as of today, to get the vaccine. We have enough of it, you need to be protected, and you need, in turn, to protect your neighbors and your family,’ said President Joe Biden in a video posted to Twitter, announcing the eligibility expansion.

‘So please, get the vaccine.’

Still, it’s important to remember that more than 730 people are still dying of COVID-19 a day in the U.S.
