When Trump arrived back on American soil, after saying that he believed Putin when he said Russia didn’t meddle in the US elections, his staff was already in crisis mode. Even members of Trump’s party were calling the President’s statements ‘treasonous.’

In an effort to stem the tide of criticism, Trump held an emergency press conference, addressing the cameras directly to clarify take back his earlier comments, now saying said what he meant to say yesterday that he accepts the US intelligence groups conclusion that Russia interfered in the election but then quickly added ‘Could be other people also, a lot of people out there.’

‘The sentence should have been, I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,’ Trump said. ‘So you can put that in. I think that probably clarifies things pretty good by itself.’

Not surprisingly, Trump also found a way to blame the press :

‘While I had a great meeting with NATO, raising vast amounts of money, I had an even better meeting with Vladimir Putin of Russia. Sadly, it is not being reported that way – the Fake News is going Crazy!’ he said.
