As the unprecedented heat wave continues in Europe (thanks, climate change), deaths due to the high heat continue to climb with the thermometer.
In France, at least 40 people have died from drowning as they worked to escape the heat.
The tourist-favorite Eiffel Tower was forced to close, and 68,000 households were left without electricity in France
The extreme heat is also affecting Spain and the UK, where record-breaking temperatures are expected to reach 40C.

Many schools and offices are closed. In Greece, authorities last week introduced changes in working hours and ordered afternoon closures of the Acropolis and other ancient sites to allow workers to cope with the high heat.

As well, many sports events are cancelled.
Experts say the heat wave in several parts of southern Europe is expected to persist for days.
