As fires ravage the Hawaiian island of Maui, at least 36 people have been confirmed dead.

Much of Lahaina, a tourist favorite and home to 9,000 people has been completely destroyed, including some historical sites dating back to the 1800s.

One resident described the scene as “apocalyptic” while another said it looks like “something out of a horror movie.” Fires are being fueled by the ripping winds from Hurricane Dora.

If you want to help, here are some organizations you can support:

The Hawaii community ‘Maui-strong.’

The Red Cross is on the ground in Hawaii.

GoFundMe has verified accounts that are helping local residents rebuild.

The Maui Food Bank.

Thank you.
