On Thursday the  Senate Judiciary Committee released a report that showed how close former President Trump came to overturning the election.

NINE times Trump directly asked the Justice Department to undermine the election result, and his staff, following his orders, pressured the Department to investigate false election fraud claims.

The damming report is based on witness interviews of top former Justice Department officials.
In conclusion, the committee report described Trump’s conduct as an abuse of presidential power.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, said the US was “half a step away from a constitutional crisis, a full-blown constitutional crisis.”
