Louisiana teenager Zaila Avant-garde, 14, has made history by becoming the first African American student to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee in its 96-year history.
Zaila has described spelling as a ‘side hobby’ since she’s also a basketball prodigy who hopes to play someday in the WNBA and holds three Guinness world records for dribbling multiple balls simultaneously.
See the winning word — and if you can spell it.
