The California beach blanket backpack is everything you need in an outdoors blanket…and more. It’s large enough for three adults with weighted corners so it doesn’t fly around, plus it’s sand-resistant, water-resistant, and heat-resistant.

We’ve used ours for the beach, concerts in the park, and a lovely picnic at Griffith Park. It packs up into the handy backpack (even if you can’t fold worth a damn) and there’s an outside mesh pocket for sunscreen, snacks, and a small towel.

If it’s windy, there are ground stakes included, though we haven’t had to use ours yet, even at sunset at the beach when the winds come in. There’s a secret zipper pocket for your phone and keys too.

Made of bamboo ( a renewable resource) it’s highly absorbent, very breathable, and resistant to odor, mold, mildew, and bacteria. (Just don’t pack it away damp.)

If you spilled red wine (raises hand) you can simply throw it into the washing machine though hang dry and never use fabric softeners (which considering they’re all chemicals, you shouldn’t be using anyway.)

Right now they’re on sale for $40 — a steal.
