On Friday the Wall Street Journal left most of its front page blank beneath the headline “His Story Should Be Here” to highlight their journalist — Evan Gershkovich’s — imprisonment in Russia on trumped-up espionage charges.

The headline blared “His Story Should Be Here.”

In Moscow to cover Russia for the paper, a year ago he was thrown in jail and the Biden administration is working to secure his release.

 

 

 

Reporters Without Borders, the international nonprofit says that more than  520 journalists are in prison right now, the highest ever recorded.
