Swiss police reported they have seized 500kg of cocaine in coffee that was sent to a Nespresso factory.

Workers at the plant in Romont called authorities after finding a mysterious white powder in the sacks of coffee beans.

After investigating, the police found more of the drug in five shipping containers. In a statement, the authorities said they suspected the shipment had come from Brazil while the coffee company quickly reassured their customers that their moring java wouldn’t come with an extra jolt.

“We want to reassure consumers that all our products are safe to consume,” the coffee company said.

The seized cocaine was 80% pure and had an estimated street value of nearly 50 million.
