Trump followed up on threatened tariffs Thursday, even leveling them against allies Canada,  Mexico, and the EU.

The  25 percent tariff on steel and 10 percent tariff on aluminum is causing the most uproar with world leaders voicing their criticism loudly.

French President Macron told Trump the move was ‘illegal;’ Angela Merkel ominously stated that the EU would respond in a ‘firm and proportionate manner’; and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau voiced his frustration:

‘We have to believe that at some point their common sense will prevail. But we see no sign of that in this action today by the U.S. administration.’

 

 

Now the U.S. braces for the retaliation.
