With the US economy cratering, a defiant Trump suggested Thursday that the election be ‘delayed.’ Don’t worry — only Congress has that power.

Trump’s suggestion came after news the U.S. economy shrank by 33 % in the April-June quarter.

His rationale? Trump once again pulled out that old chestnut about voter fraud tied to mail-in voting though no studies have found issues with voting via mail.

Tellingly, even Trump’s biggest supporters — Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio— dismissed the idea that Election Day could change. And Senator Lindsey Graham, who has always defended Trump said there would be a safe vote in November.
