Upon hearing this, China called claims of trade talks ‘fake news.’ (Wonder where they got that expression.)

“Any claims about the progress of China-U.S. trade negotiations are groundless as trying to catch the wind and have no factual basis,” the spokesman for China said.

Even his own Treasury Secretary contradicted him when he said there were no formal negotiations.

Trump had put 145% tariffs on imports from China, while China hit back with 125% tariffs on U.S. products, which will cripple the US economay.
