In Simi Valley, the ‘Easy Fire’ (named after the street where it broke out) has caused major evacuations and threatens the Regan Presidential Library. Teams of firefighters are defending the buildings.

“Unfortunately it was about the worst time it could happen — 40-mile-an-hour sustained winds and fuels that were ripe and ready to carry fire,” Ventura County Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen said.

Home to many stables, volunteers have banded together to transport terrified horses out of the area. (Video below.) 800 firefighters, eight air tankers and nine helicopters are working to contain the fire as this posts.
