On SNL this last weekend host Anya Taylor-Joy joined in a rousing ‘It’s Pride Again’ with Lil Nas X, Kate McKinnon, Bowen Yang, and Punkie Johnson.
Kind of a Madonna ‘Celebration’ type jingle, the skit centers on a group of friends anticipating next month’s Pride Month festivities, which was missed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lil Nas makes a cameo in a pre-recorded bit, singing:
“Time for parade’s y’all. Let’s get messy!” he yells while dressed in a feathery purple ensemble.
“It’s Pride again! We’ve been waiting so long. It’s Pride again! For so much to go wrong,” the group sings. Before the clip ends, Lil Nas shows up rapping: “Marsha P. Johnson and Harvey Mil, they paved the way for you to shake your filth.”
