A German city just announced a crackdown on bad nudist etiquette, namely, looky-loos visiting nude beaches.
In Rostock, so-called ‘beach wardens’ now can ban people who come to gawk at its naturist-only beaches.
City Officials said they received ” numerous complaints from people who felt harassed in the naturist (or nudist) areas,” said Rostock Tourism’s Moritz Naumann.
Who knew that Rostock has about nine miles of beach divided into nude beaches and clothed sections? But ‘naturism’ has traditionally been hugely popular in Germany and etiquette must be followed.
The most common infractions include staring, taking photos, and unwanted comments.
Younger people don’t seem to be embracing the trend, so city officials have reduced the number of naturist beaches, though.
Still , there are popular all-naturel beaches around the world, including popular ones in Greece and New Zealand.
