When the news broke that Trump ordered the DOJ to seize cell phone records to spy on his opposition after information was leaked from Trump’s meetings with Russian leaders, Nancy Pelosi reacted angrily, saying this was worse than Watergate.
‘What the administration did, the Justice Department, the leadership of the former President, goes even beyond Richard Nixon,’ Pelosi said.
‘Richard Nixon had an enemies list. This is about undermining the rule of law,’ referencing Nixon’s infamous enemies list, which included journalists and other figures.
It was also revealed that Trump instructed the DOJ to secretly gather phone data from Apple on his media critics also, which included The New York Times, CNN, and the Washington Post.
Monday the media giants are set to meet with Biden’s AG Merrick Garland.
