Russia bombed a maternity hospital in Mariupol, Ukraine, sending nurses scrambling with their young patients. Babies are buried under rubble and the casualties are still being counted.

Zelensky tweeted his outrage:

‘Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.’

Meanwhile, the Red Cross has warned conditions in Mariupol are ‘apocalyptic’ after food, water and electricity were cut off more than a week ago as Russian forces surrounded the city.
