On Monday, the federal government announced passengers traveling on airplanes and other forms of public transportation won’t be required to wear a face mask after a federal judge in Florida voided the mandate.
The Tampa judge ruled that the mandate ‘exceeded the authority of the CDC which’ failed to justify the order and didn’t follow proper rulemaking procedures.’
With the BA.2 omicron subvariant on the rise, this seems a strange time to lift the mask mandate.
