I’ve been using AKT Therapy’s D-Luxe Daily Bronzer with SPF30 for years. It gives my skin a natural golden glow, tones down my redness and moisturizes with vitamin D, all while offering sun protection with skin (and earth)-safe, zinc oxide. No toxic chemicals means that I can feel good about wearing it every day. Like most people I know, I want to do good for the planet, without sacrificing the effectiveness of my products. And AKT Therapy’s bronzer delivers. In fact, it makes such a difference for my complexion that a well-meaning aunt once told me she’d buy it for me if I was ever short on cash, because I “should never be without it.”

With that sort of track record, I was very excited to test out the other three products in the line — Rad Face Oil, Elemental Sun Balm, and After Sun Botanical Toner. Each of the four products in the minimalistic line is a multitasker, with the goal of simplifying skincare and creating less waste for our planet.

Just like the D-Luxe Daily Bronzer, the Elemental Sun Balm uses zinc oxide to block UVA and UVB rays. With a dewy finish that blends sheer and super hydrating ingredients like Squalene and Jojoba Seed Oil, this non-toxic sunscreen can do triple duty as a moisturizer, face tint, and sun protection. I love the super nourishing and natural ingredients and the fact that it doesn’t leave any white cast on my face.

I also tried out the Rad Face Oil, which quickly found a place on my nightstand. Organic Cherry Kernel Oil and other natural ingredients like Argan, Squalene, and Papaya Seed Oils, offer completely clean hydration. I love that it’s lightweight and quickly absorbs, leaving my skin feeling drenched in moisture but not at all greasy. I put it on before bed, and again in the morning for a nice boost to my barrier. Definitely a new addiction.

I don’t typically reach for toner, but AKT Therapy’s After Sun Botanical Toner felt so soothing to my thirsty skin that I found myself using it throughout the day for a quick spritz of hydration. With ingredients like Labrador tea and Aloe vera juice, it’s anti-inflammatory and packed with antioxidants to help heal the signs of sun damage.

AKT Therapy describes itself as Luxury Organic Skincare and its founder Janus Auermann has made sustainability a built-in priority of her brand. By choosing to limit the line to a few multifunctional core products she’s helping consumers take care of their skin and the planet. Fortunately for fashionistas, the minimalistic skincare brand’s packaging is both sleek and sustainable. The black glass bottles are easily recycled, and their shipping boxes are made with 80% post-consumer recycled materials. Even better – they look great on your countertop or nightstand.
