Kim K.’s Soccer Ball Purse: Scores Major Fashion Goal.

Kim Kardashian just scored a major fashion goal.

The reality star and SKIMS founder showed off one of the rarest pieces in Louis Vuitton history on Instagram this week: the brand’s iconic World Cup soccer ball bag. The collectible accessory was originally created by Louis Vuitton for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France and has since become a holy-grail item for fashion collectors.

The monogrammed leather soccer ball, complete with natural leather straps, wasn’t produced in large numbers and was released as a numbered limited edition, making it one of the house’s most sought-after novelty pieces. Back in 1998, the regulation-size ball retailed for about $530, but today vintage examples regularly command between $2,100 and $3,500 on the resale market.

Kim paired the eye-catching accessory with a post promoting Louis Vuitton’s World Cup charity collaboration with UNICEF, proving once again that when it comes to rare handbags, she always keeps her eye on the ball. (Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves!)

But Kim K. isn’t the first celeb with this designer ball; in 2019, Rihanna sported it to a soccer match in Italy.
